Repetita iuvant
It’s true, repetition has its value. For years, I’ve been saying the same thing: without volunteers, the Maratona wouldn’t just lose part of its beauty, it simply wouldn’t exist.
I don’t mind repeating what may sound obvious, because it really isn’t. Even peace can feel like something we take for granted, yet clearly, we shouldn’t. Wars are never far away, rights feel uncertain, and there’s a heaviness in the air.
Volunteers, however, move in the opposite direction. They create, they believe, they work together. Year after year, they come back smiling, tireless, and generous. Like snow returning in soft, dancing flakes, bringing a sense of joy. Like the Enrosadira, lighting up the Dolomites at sunrise and sunset with breathtaking colors. In the same way, the presence of volunteers, faithful and devoted, is one of the most beautiful things we can witness.
So, I will gladly say it once again and offer a heartfelt, resounding Giulan to every volunteer.
Thank you for all that you do, and for everything you give, so generously, with both your hearts and your skills.
