Dear friends of the Maratona dles Dolomites - Enel,

this year we finally experienced the true meaning and impact of hosting the Olympic Games. After years of organization and planning, athletes, delegations, journalists and fans from all over the world came together in peace, letting conflicts fade into the background.

In those weeks, and especially during the events that took place in South Tyrol, we were fortunate enough to feel for ourselves the magic of the ideal spirit of peaceful competition, of fair play and of the inspiration that comes from learning from one another. It was a feeling of harmony and unity.

Bearing this in mind, I find it particularly fitting that peace, PAX, has been chosen as the theme of this year’s edition of the Maratona dles Dolomites - Enel. This is because the Maratona, albeit on a different scale, has proven over the years to offer a stage for thousands of sport enthusiasts from all over the world to meet and enjoy a shared passion for cycling and for nature, with the Dolomites providing the perfect scenery for the challenging race they chose to take part in.

Peace will accompany the athletes in their interactions with their competitors, and I trust it will support them during the climbs, providing serenity and resolve that will enable them to transform the commitment they poured into the race preparation into the results they aspired to achieve.

I wish all of them the best of luck and hope that everyone will experience another joyful, inspiring and truly harmonious edition of the Maratona.
