It's a known fact that the Maratona without the Maratona Village just wouldn't be the same. With over 37 operators and 15.000 visitors, the Maratona Village in San Leonardo in Badia is a three-day event dedicated to everyone who wishes to have fun and gather in a world of interesting events and surprises for all ages. The events program is as rich and exciting as ever: in addition to the familiar faces, there will also be surprises that will impress the whole maratona audience. Here is an overview of the initiatives that will bring the Maratona Village 2019 to life.
Let's start with fashion. Every day, on the most beautiful cycling catwalk in the world set up in the exhibition area, models will showcase the Maratona's technical clothing.
Dedicated to all the foodies.
To call it a food corner is somewhat reductive: the area reserved for tasting the different products of the exhibitors gets even bigger with established brands such as Loacker and Parmigiano Reggiano.
One of the important parts of the Maratona Village is the large screen that projects live images taken from inside the village and the race. And of course there's the classic wheel of fortune with its many awards up for grabs.
As always, the village is a place of encounters where it's possible to meet and interact with famous people and celebrities who are available for interviews, chats, autographs and snaps with the public. Like in previous years, the companies will showcase many new, interesting products for the first time, starting from Segafredo, who will delight those attending with fair trade organic coffee.
In addition to the "Mycyling", Technogym brings you "Skillbike" which revolutionises the way you train when going out on the road is not an option. Pinarello, with its state-of-the-art bicycles, and Selle Italia with its innovative system for finding the right saddle, will be joining us once again, as will Kask+Koo who will introduce their new sunglasses and helmets collection. Rigamonti will tickle the participants' tastebuds with finger foods which feature bresaola and Marlene apples, while Enervit will there to give the audience advice on the use of energy products along the way.
In the Pirelli stand, our cyclists can use the tyre-checking service; furthermore, on this occasion the company will introduce a special edition tyre which features the 2019 Maratona's colours.
Mapei, which has since several years successfully contributed to bringing these three days to life, has confirmed its attendance, and so also Enel and Audi, with their ultra-technological spaces in which it's possible to explore the wonderful world of electric cars.
Arcese and Fabio Vettori's design lab will offer to all children present the chance to have fun, play and explore a world full of fantastic surprises.
Cantine Maschio, the official spumante supplier of the Maratona, will bring its best bottles, and the hoteliers of the area will give their contribute by organising food tastings of some of the traditional dishes for all cyclists and sports lovers.
Maratona Shop - good news!
Big changes at the Maratona Shop, which has been completely redesigned. Thanks to the reconfirmed collaboration with Castelli, which produces the official products of Maratona dles Dolomites - Enel, you can purchase beautiful sweater and T-shirts, the original vibrantly-coloured cycling clothing with all the accessories: gloves, socks, leg and arm warmers. Kask presents the new Maratona-inspired Mojito.
Furthermore the massage service provided by the Enrico Fermi Institute, the school for sports massage therapists, will be present at the village on Friday and Saturday and on Sunday at the finish line.
We confirmed the shuttle service which takes participants from the different small towns to the bib collection point and the village. The structures of the village will be made of wood. The wood used is purchased from the surrounding areas which were badly damaged due to last October's bad weather. A way not only to support our friends in the neighbour valleys, but also to give a clear message to plastic: the less we use it, the better it is for our eco-system. To this end, and to confirm the awareness of the Maratona towards environmental themes, there will be two "Green Corners" in which some of our volunteer friends will help visitors with recycling. Finally, it's worth highlighting the important effort made on behalf of exhibitors who try to limit the plastic they use by opting for paper or biodegradable plastic.
Enjoy the Maratona Village!
