Charity projects 2025

The charity projects will be run by three associations:
The Association of Groups of Belluno "Insieme si può" ("Together we can") a non-profit making organization NPA/NGO (www.365giorni.org) which supports “Light for Life”. The project aims to ensure access to quality healthcare services in vulnerable contexts, addressing the health crisis in Syria, Uganda, and Chad.
The Dr. Ambrosoli Memorial Hospital Foundation ETS (www.fondazioneambrosoli.it), which supports the project ‘Give Light to the Future‘ that aims to ensure safe delivery for 3,000 mothers and their babies at the hospital in Kalongo, Uganda. The project is illustrated on this page.
The Michele Scarponi Foundation ETS (www.fondazionemichelescarponi.com) which supports a School Project that aims to make students aware of the importance of respecting the rules, life on the road and sustainable mobility. The project is illustrated on this page.

Light for Life

Project managed by the non profit making organisation NPA/NGO Association Groups "Insieme si può".

The "Light for Life" project aims to improve access to quality healthcare in Syria, Uganda, and Chad, where poverty and conflict undermine millions' right to health. In Chad, the focus is on a pediatric medical center in N’djamena, powered by solar panels for continuous services. In Uganda, solar panels at the 'Mary Queen of Peace' center will enable ultrasound use, with staff training to improve maternal and child care. In Syria, a mobile unit in refugee camps will continue operating, reaching over 2,220 patients, with a midwife to enhance maternal health. "Light for Life" is committed to improving healthcare and saving lives in vulnerable regions.

Give Light to the Future

Project managed managed by the Dr. Ambrosoli Memorial Hospital Foundation ETS.

This project addresses maternal and infant mortality in Uganda, where many mothers and babies lose their lives due to limited access to antenatal care and childbirth assistance. It aims to ensure safe delivery for 3,000 mothers at Kalongo Hospital. In a country where only 70% of women reach healthcare facilities, Kalongo's 75-bed maternity ward and 19 staff offer hope. Midwives, crucial in a nation with one midwife per 2,000 people, support mothers during childbirth and beyond. The project will fund 15 midwives and a head nurse for a year, providing continuous, high-quality care and hope for thousands of families.

The road belongs to everyone, starting with the most fragile

School Project of the Michele Scarponi Foundation ETS.

This School Project aims to raise students' awareness of the importance of following rules, road safety, and sustainable mobility through an educational approach that integrates environmental, social, and economic aspects. Starting from Michele's story, the project focuses on his values as a person and athlete. Reflecting on his death, it addresses road violence and possible solutions, turning pain into a message of hope with the "foot on the ground" initiative. Classroom meetings promote discussions on road safety and mobility. So far, over 50 schools have been visited, reaching 30,000 students.

Action Medical Research

Further the Maratona dles Dolomites - Enel started a charity collaboration with Action Medical Research, a UK charity that funds vital research to help sick and disabled babies and children. They have been funding medical breakthroughs since they began in 1952 and almost everyone has been touched by their pioneering work in some way, such as the first polio vaccines in the UK, ultrasound in pregnancy and the rubella vaccine. The research they have funded has helped save thousands of children's lives and transformed many more.

Every pound raised has helped to fund research that could one day help children like Monroe, who lost his battle with a serious bowel condition at one week old, necrotising enterocolitis, Iona, who was diagnosed with brain cancer at the age of five and little Joshua, who had a rare and incurable condition called Jeune syndrome, and needed a ventilator to help him breathe.
