Maratona dles Dolomites and the schools of the Ladin valleys - "Eco?Logical!"
This year again, after the interesting experience of the “Energy” project on occasion of the 2009 Maratona dles Dolomites, the organizing committee of the Maratona dles Dolomites has decided to actively involve the schools in the Ladin valleys. This year again a competition for the pupils of the primary and secondary schools has been launched with the support of the Educational Superintendent of the Schools in the Ladin areas in the province of Bolzano, Mr. Roland Verra.
“Eco?Logical!” is the theme of the Maratona dles Dolomites 2010 and this is also the title of the 2010 project with the Ladin schools. This initiative aims to raise the awareness of the scholars of the primary and secondary schools on the importance of the topic of ecology and invite them to take part in this event by showing herewith their sensitivity for our environment. This project is considered an action of solidarity where no prizes are contemplated.
The project for the primary schools consisted of the creation of an “ecological” work which could be expressed in several forms: in the production of a drawing on the topic of ecology or in the production of a work (poster, picture, table game, small utensils etc….) with recycled material.
The project for secondary schools consisted of the creation of something practical with recycled material, which can be used in everyday life (for example a wastepaper basket, a tapestry etc.)
The competition was open to the pupils in all the classes of the primary and secondary Ladin schools and whole classes or work groups have taken part.
We invite you to go and see the ”ecological” works on display at the Ladin Museum “Museum Ladin Ćiastel de Tor” in the castle in San Martino in Badia. The opening of the exhibition takes place at 3 p.m. on 13th May 2010. The exhibition is open until the 29th June 2010.
