Maratona dles Dolomites - Enel - July 1st, 2018

FAQ 

(applicable only to participants non-residing in Italy)

 

 

What is the Maratona dles Dolomites - Enel?
The “Maratona dles Dolomites - Enel” is a large-scale event for touring cyclists. It is a road bicycling race on three possible routes: Maratona Course (138 km), Middle Course (106 km) and Sellaronda Course (55 km). The Sellaronda course does not foresee an official classification.

 

Are replacements possible?
Replacements are possible within the same team among participants who have already completed their registration. Replacements can be made until 22nd May 2018 upon payment of a 40,00 € processing fee. Fidelity members and participants who already transferred the registration from 2017 cannot be replaced.

 

What happens if someone is unable to participate?
Those unable to participate are not entitled to any reimbursement of their fee. If a withdrawal is announced before 12th June 2018, the only participation fee (109,00 €) can be transferred to 2019. The entry deemed valid for the following year is nominal and cannot be transferred to third parties and is valid only for the year following any withdrawal. In the event of non-participation, the fee paid will not be reimbursed. For 2019’s participation a form will be sent in October 2018 to fill out and send back by paying the difference of participation-fee 2019.

 

Where and when does the starting number pick-up take place?
The starting number pick-up takes place at the events hall in S.Leonardo/Badia – Alta Badia:
- Wednesday, 27.06.2018 from 8.30 p.m. to 10.30 p.m.
- Thursday, 28.06.2018 from 8.30 p.m. to 10.30 p.m.
- Friday, 29.06.2018 from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m.
- Saturday, 30.06.2018 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.

 

Who and how can pick-up the starting number?
The starting number needs to be picked-up personally with an original valid ID (identity card, passport or driving license) and on handing over the voucher and a copy of the medical certificate (this certificate must not be dated more than one year prior to the date of the event) - see “conditions of entry 2018” point 28.

No copies of ID’s or other ID’s allowed. A pickup from third parties is not accepted.

 

Is there a shuttle service to the number pick up and exhibition area “Maratona village”?
Yes, the free shuttle service runs on Friday 29th June from 2p.m. to 7p.m. and on Saturday 30th June from 9.30a.m. to 6p.m.. The shuttle runs every 20~30 minutes from the villages of Colfosco – Corvara – San Cassiano – La Villa and stops in front of the tourist offices.

 

How does the division into starting groups run for 2018?
The division is based on point 3 of the Conditions of Entry 2018; the times refer to the last 4 editions of the Maratona dles Dolomites - Enel (2014, 2015, 2016 and 2017).

 

Where is the start and the finish of the race?
The start of the race is in La Villa – Alta Badia – Dolomites (BZ) – Italy and the arrival in Corvara – Alta Badia.

 

When is the assembly point and at what time is the start of the Maratona dles Dolomites - Enel?
The assembly is possible as from 5.30 a.m. and the start of the race is at 6.30 a.m. Anybody who has not entered the grid 15 minutes before the start will be automatically diverted to the last starting grid.

 

When do I have to select the route of the Maratona? Are there any restrictions in the selection of the route?
There are 3 possible routes for the 2018 Maratona dles Dolomites - Enel. Participants are free to select the route best suited to their ability, also during the course of the event, entirely according to their own judgement. Minors over 17 (seventeen) may just enter for the short distance (55 km and 106 km) and can not run the 138 km long course. Cyclists older than 64 (sixty four) may also just run the shortest courses (55km and 106 km).

Corvara direction Campolongo (55km) 11.15 a.m.

Cernadoi direction Passo Giau (76km) 11.45 a.m.

 

Finish: 55km: 1 p.m. 106km and 138km: 4.15 p.m.

 

Maximum limit for assistance:
Refreshments and mechanical and medical assistance will be guaranteed until the following time:
Passo Sella 11.15 a.m.
Passo Campolongo 11.45 a.m.
Passo Gardena/Colle S. Lucia 12.15 p.m.
Passo Giau 2 p.m.
Passo Falzarego 3.45 p.m.

 

Are the roads of the race open to the traffic?
The roads will be closed to traffic (including cyclists) during most of the race. The closure timetable of the roads will be published as soon as the responsible authorities will confirm the times.

 

Is it possible to have a private mobile and mechanical assistance following me?
The assistance of private vehicles following the race is strictly prohibited, under penalty of disqualification of the athlete.

 

When and where does the official prize giving ceremony take place? Who will be awarded?
The official awards ceremony will take place at 4 p.m. in the ice stadium. Following prizes will be handed over: the top 5 (five) teams of the team classification, the first 3 (three) in the overall individual classification and the first classified in each category for the medium and Maratona distances. The Sellaronda course does not foresee an official classification. Prizes will be handed over only to winners taking part at the ceremony.

By car:

• highway A22 "Brennero" to Chiusa; state road "Val Gardena" to Passo Gardena and Colfosco.
• highway A27 to Belluno ; state road SS51 to Cortina d'Ampezzo, Passo Falzarego, Valparola, San Cassiano.
• highway A27 to Ponte nelle Alpi ; state road SS203 "Agordino" to Arabba, Passo Campolongo, Corvara
