A 10-year journey. It seems like yesterday when Maria Canins and four friends got together under the Sassongher to dream up the Maratona for Kids, to allow children to fall in love with riding and the landscape of the Dolomites, to let them have fun and play on two wheels.
No one imagined we would reach the tenth edition. This journey has entertained more than 3,000 children over the years, and we are certain that some of them will be present at the start of the Maratona on Sunday morning. At home they will still have the jerseys made by Sportful and will remember those times with joy and perhaps nostalgia. Maratona for Kids, a journey that continues to shape us and make us dream.
This year the jersey is again designed by Fabio Vettori (www.fabiovettori.com), an Italian artist and cartoonist who through his ants reshapes the valleys and locations of Alta Badia — a jersey that becomes a fun and amusing work of art to keep and collect.

The Maratona for Kids, conceived and organized by Sportful, will take place in Corvara on Saturday, July 2, 2016. It is a noncompetitive race for children ages 6-12 years. Helmets are mandatory. Registration is limited to the first 400 who register, and they will be given a free cycling jersey specially designed by Sportful. The event will be held in the meadow near the finish area of the Maratona dles Dolomites – Enel. The start is at 10:30 a.m.. Start groups will be organized by age. Mountain bikes are recommended. Neither bikes nor helmets will be available for rent on-site. Registration will take place only on Saturday morning, starting at 9 a.m. directly at the event venue. The cost is 5 euro per child, and all the proceeds will be donated for the care of orphans and HIV-positive Ugandan children in Lyra. The project is managed by Sister Maria Marrone in collaboration with the Association "Insieme si può" non-profit making organization NPA/NGO (www.365giorni.org).
